Lucy Adundo
Team Leader
Lucy Adundo (PhD student) is a nutritionist with expertise in gender relations in improving household food and nutrition security in developing countries using West Africa as an example, and will now be conducting urban research on improving food security in Kenya. Lucy has also worked with GIZ for the Employment Promotion Programme III (EPP III) and WIDU.africa, which promoted youth employment and digital transformation, respectively.
Simon Gicheha
Assistant-Team Leader
Simon Gicheha (PhD student) is an agricultural economist with immense knowledge of agroecology and sustainable agricultural practices. He has experience working with various organizations and government agencies in achieving various goals of Kenya’s 2030 Agenda.
Agnes Mwaura
Organization Secretary
Agnes Mwaura is an obstetrics and gynecology PhD student and a gender expert. She has experience with gender relations and nutrition in Kenya and Germany through their work at the university and with various stakeholders here in Germany.
Kennedy Omondi
Organization Treasurer
Kennedy Omondi (Bachelor graduate in Nutrition Sciences and Home Economics) also has experience with gender relations and nutrition in Kenya and Germany through their work at the university and with various stakeholders here in Germany. Kennedy, who is also responsible for the finances of the PIZ organization, ensures that funds are used efficiently in line with project activities.

Team Spirit
While a leadership structure exists that ensures organizational accountability, transparency and cohesion, PIZ adapts a team spirited approach. In this sense. While the executive committee stays at the center for organizational anchoring, each member gets the opportunity to lead others as project team leaders. In so doing, the organization gives opportunity to each and every member to enhance, improve and apply leadership skills under the guidance of learned and experienced leaders. As such, even newbies eventually become competent leaders.
